From a dorm room to a widespread movement, read below to see how SFLI has transformed from humble beginnings into the driving force in developing present and future pro-life leaders.
On Campus

In college, John-Paul Deddens saw fellow students fall victim to the tragedy of abortion. He thought,

“I should do something.”

Saving a Life

Then, he witnessed a friend help a random, scared, young mother through her pregnancy. He realized,

“I can and will do something.”

Responding to the Need

From his dorm room in 2006, he started Students for Life of Illinois to serve where it is needed most: on campus.

By uniting campuses, we bring hope for life to more students in need.

Dreaming Big

With only enough savings for a month and sacrificing a lucrative job offer in 2008, John-Paul sent Kevin Grillot to Chicago to be the first Campus Mentor to transform students into pro-life leaders.

Kevin, join with me in sacrificing to bring the pro-life message to students.

Huge Impact

Through great sacrifice and impact, SFLI transforms campuses into centers of the culture of life.
